CTOS
Malaysia's largest private credit reporting agency, licensed under the Credit Reporting Agencies Act 2010. It compiles a credit report and a CTOS Score (from 300 to 850) that many lenders use to help decide your application.
CTOS pulls together information from CCRIS, court and legal records, trade references and other public sources into a single report, then summarises your risk as the CTOS Score. Because it includes non-banking data such as legal actions and bankruptcy records, something can show up on CTOS even if you have never taken a bank loan.
You are entitled to see your own CTOS report — a free basic check is available once a year, and the MyCTOS report can be bought for a small fee. It is worth checking yours before a big application so you can spot and dispute any error before a lender sees it. CTOS is a reporting agency, not a decision-maker: it does not approve loans, and a wrong entry can be corrected.
