Credit Term
CCRIS
Central Credit Reference Information System
The credit database run by Bank Negara Malaysia. It records the loans, credit cards and financing you hold with licensed banks, plus your repayment conduct for the last 12 months. It is not a blacklist — it is a factual record.
Every bank and licensed financial institution in Malaysia reports to CCRIS each month. When you apply for any loan or card, the lender pulls your CCRIS report to see your outstanding facilities and how you have been repaying them. CCRIS shows a rolling 12-month picture of your monthly conduct — whether each account was paid on time or fell into arrears — alongside your total outstanding balances.
CCRIS itself does not approve or reject you and does not give you a score; it hands the lender the raw facts, and each lender applies its own rules. You can get your own CCRIS report free through Bank Negara's eCCRIS portal (eccris.bnm.gov.my) or at any BNM office or kiosk. Checking your own report does not affect anything — it is the smart first step before applying for credit.
