URUS
Financial Management and Resilience Programme
A targeted debt-relief scheme run by AKPK with the banks to help lower-income borrowers in genuine hardship, offering measures such as reduced or waived interest and easier repayments for a period. Eligibility is specific and time-bound.
URUS (Program Pengurusan Ketahanan Kewangan) was introduced to support borrowers — particularly in the lower-income group — who were hit by financial hardship and needed more than a standard restructuring. Through it, participating banks could offer relief such as a period of reduced instalments and interest or profit waivers, coordinated via AKPK, to help people get back on their feet.
URUS has strict eligibility conditions and has operated within defined enrolment windows, so whether it is open and who qualifies can change over time — always check the current position with AKPK or your bank. It sits alongside the DMP as part of AKPK's support toolkit: the DMP is the general restructuring programme, while URUS targets deeper hardship for those who meet its criteria.
